  • 2024

    • ProfilGruppen introduces a new organization based on four profit areas: Extrusions, Components, Contract manufacturing and Risk management.
  • 2023

    • Mari Kadowaki takes up the position of President and CEO.
    • Bengt Stillström takes up the position of Chairman of the Board.
    • Mats Johansson requests to resign from the company’s board.
  • 2022

    • An Extraordinary General Meeting is held and Mats Johansson is elected as the new Chairman of the Board.
    • Klaus Jürgen Wiemers, Chairman of the Board of ProfilGruppen, resigns at his own request.
    • Uncertain economic conditions lead to lower delivery volumes and 25 employees are given notice of redundancy.
  • 2021

    • High demand despite high raw material prices and ProfilGruppen has a record result in the second quarter.
    • Mats R Karlsson is elected as new Chairman of the Board after Kåre Wetterberg declined re-election.
  • 2020

    • ProfilGruppen’s fourth extrusion plant, Press Tor, was completed at the turn of the year.
    • Decision to certify the company to the industry’s own sustainability standard, designed by ASI, as well as certification to ISO 45001, a health and safety management system.
  • 2019

    • Launch of new ERP system and construction of new press facility, Press Tor.
    • Fredrik Zöögling takes over as CEO.
  • 2018

    • This year’s results will be the best in the company’s history, investment begins in a new business system and in a new state-of-the-art press facility, Press Tor.
  • 2017

    • ProfilGruppen has a historically good year with an operating profit of over SEK 100 million.
  • 2016

    • ProfilGruppen continues to expand by signing a new major contract via its subsidiary PG&WIP AB.
  • 2015

    • ProfilGruppen signs its biggest deal ever and a new fully automated production facility is built.
    • The subsidiary PG&WIP AB is established.
  • 2014

    • Anders Frisinger resigns from his position as CEO.
    • Per Thorsell takes over as CEO.
    • New issue.
  • 2013

    • Investment in the Swedish sales organization.
    • Kåre Wetterberg takes up the position of Chairman of the Board.
  • 2012

    • Divestment of processing plant in Klavreström.
    • Anders Frisinger takes up the position of CEO.
  • 2011

    • ProfilGruppen celebrates 30 years!
    • Claes Seldeby takes over as new President and CEO on January 1 after Nils Arthur. Claes resigns in September due to family reasons, CFO Peter Schön is appointed as CEO.
    • Extensive fire in the Press Max production plant. After four months of repair work, the damaged production line was put back into operation.
    • As part of an efficiency program, 55 positions were announced for reduction in September, evenly distributed between administration and production.
    • The operations of two smaller subsidiaries are incorporated into ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB.
  • 2010

    • Skills development with the EU-funded project “Aluminum in new ways”.
    • Intensive work throughout the organization with several important development projects to strengthen ProfilGruppen’s competitiveness and increase sales. One of the more extensive projects has been to further streamline the entire supply chain, from raw material to highly processed component.
    • ProfilGruppen exhibits at Aluminum 2010. Large European trade fair in Essen.
  • 2009

    • A two-year agreement is signed with Bosch Rexroth AG, making ProfilGruppen one of Bosch Rexroth’s main suppliers of aluminum profiles.
    • The sales office in China is closed.
    • Due to a continued decline in the market, ProfilGruppen laid off 40 employees in February in the profile construction department at ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB in Åseda.
  • 2008

    • Investment in a fully automated production storage system in the main factory.
    • In September, ProfilGruppen exhibited at one of the world’s largest trade fairs for heavy vehicles – IAA, Hannover.
    • In order to meet a declining market, ProfilGruppen carried out an adjustment of the organization and production capacity in Åseda. 55 positions are given notice of redundancy at ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB.
  • 2007

    • ProfilGruppen receives an honorable mention in the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s Best Annual Report competition.
    • In connection with PWG’s restructuring, ProfilGruppen transferred its shares to the new owner and at the same time signed a three-year supply agreement with PWG.
  • 2006

    • ProfilGruppen acquires 18% of the German company PWG.
    • Quality certification according to ISO-TS 16949:2002.
    • ProfilGruppen opens sales office in China.
    • ProfilGruppen exhibits at ALUMINIUM 2006 in Essen, Germany.
    • ProfilGruppen turns 25 years old. In the right column you can download documents that tell about the start in 1981, and the journey from then until today.
  • 2005

    • The Board proposes a distribution of SEK 86 million to shareholders.
    • It was decided to open representative offices in China.
    • 10 million is invested in a more efficient surface treatment plant.
    • Restructuring of processing operations. Advanced machining is concentrated to ProfilGruppen Manufacturing AB and surface treatment of aluminum components to ProfilGruppen Components AB. Local independent suppliers take over parts of the Group’s machining operations.
    • In February, ProfilGruppen exhibited at the Nordic region’s largest electronics fair in Stockholm.
  • 2004

    • In the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s Best Annual Report 2003 competition, ProfilGruppen wins in the Small Company category.
    • ProfilGruppen exhibits at ALUMINIUM 2004 in Essen, Germany.
    • ProfilGruppen acquires 40 percent of the Dutch company Realpro BV in 2004.
  • 2003

    • As part of the restructuring of ProfilGruppen’s processing operations, the shareholding in partly owned ProfilSvets Björn Jonsson AB is sold.
    • Friction welding is taken over by ProfilGruppen.
    • Fifteen salaried employees were given notice of redundancy in ProfilGruppen Extrusions in October.
    • To promote liquidity in the ProfilGruppen share, Remium Securities AB was appointed as liquidity provider.
    • For the fourth consecutive year, the Annual Report was awarded an honorable mention in the Best Annual Report competition.
  • 2002

    • Significant progress has been made in the design, optimization and manufacturing of advanced cooling profiles.
    • Together with the partly owned company ProfilSvets Björn Jonsson AB, ProfilGruppen installed a new welding plant in the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technology area during the fall.
    • As part of the Group’s aggressive quality work, the processing company ProfilGruppen Components AB was certified in accordance with the automotive industry’s QS-9000 quality system. At the same time, ProfilGruppen Extrusion’s certificate was renewed.
    • For the fourth year in a row, ProfilGruppen received an honorable mention in the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s Best Accounts competition.
    • Nils Arthur will take over as President and CEO when Lars Johansson leaves the post on April 20.
    • One of the company’s older presses is being replaced with a new one. The investment, which totals SEK 20 million, will increase capacity and productivity.
  • 2001

    • ProfilGruppen strengthens its brand by changing the names of its subsidiaries to ProfilGruppen Extrusions AB (ProfilGruppen i Åseda), ProfilGruppen Components AB (Bergströms Metall/Elbe Anodisering) and ProfilGruppen Manufacturing AB (ProfilMekanik).
    • A new company for welding aluminum, ProfilSvets Björn Jonsson AB, is established based in Norrköping.
    • After many years of operating in England, a sales company is established in Matlock, Derbyshire.
  • 2000

    • The processing company Bergströms Metall AB in Klaverström is acquired by ProfilGruppen.
    • Stockholmsbörsen changes its stock exchange lists and ProfilGruppen switches from the OTC to the O-list.
    • Samhall Brahe’s operations in Åseda are acquired and staffing agreements are signed with Samhall.
  • 1999

    • A new business system will be introduced in the second half of the year to streamline customer cooperation and the management of operations.
    • In December, ProfilGruppen becomes the first Nordic company in its industry to be certified according to the automotive industry’s international quality system QS-9000.
  • 1998

    • The group company ProfilMekanik moves to new premises at Västra Industriområdet in Åseda. PTM Mekaniska in Åseda, which specializes in bending profiles, is acquired and integrated into ProfilMekanik.
    • The first upper secondary school in aluminum technology in Sweden starts in Åseda on the initiative of ProfilGruppen. The aluminum high school will be nationally recruiting and run under municipal auspices.
    • The new production facility, press Max, will be inaugurated in October and the SEK 135 million investment will double the company’s profile manufacturing capacity.
    • In December, ProfilGruppen is certified according to the environmental management system ISO 14001 by Det Norske Veritas.
  • 1997

    • A decision is taken to invest in a third production facility for profile manufacturing.
    • ProfilGruppen Intressenter AB changes its name to ProfilGruppen AB.
    • The company carries out a new share issue and ownership distribution and is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange’s OTC list on June 19.
  • 1994

    • ProfilGruppen is certified according to ISO 9001 by Det Norske Veritas in connection with a total recertification of the company.
  • 1993

    • After many years of operation in Germany, a sales company is established in Stuttgart.
    • Market share in Sweden increases to 15%.
  • 1992

    • Total quality assurance of operations is complemented by Kaizen, a continuous improvement methodology that involves everyone in the company.
  • 1991

    • ProfilGruppen is certified according to ISO 9002 by Det Norske Veritas as the first Nordic company in its industry.
  • 1990

    • The current a-shareholders, who are all active in ProfilGruppen, acquire the company through ProfilGruppen Intressenter AB.
    • During the year, sales companies are established in Stockholm.
    • The Concession Board for Environmental Protection gives the go-ahead for further expansion in Åseda.
  • 1989

    • The company’s second profile production line is inaugurated and contributes to a significant increase in capacity.
    • “Discover Aluminium” was organized for the second time.
  • 1986-87

    • Focus on refinement increases. ProfilMekanik i Åseda AB is established and Elbe Anodisering AB is acquired.
    • “Discover Aluminium”, the first aluminium fair in Europe, is organized in Åseda on the initiative of ProfilGruppen.
  • 1983-84

    • Export activities are being developed through the establishment of sales companies in Denmark and Norway.
    • In 1984, ProfilGruppen’s market share exceeded 10 percent.
  • 1981

    • ProfilGruppen starts operations in Åseda with a production line for profile manufacturing after a year of preparation. Among the founders are the current main owners Lars Johansson and Mats Jonson, both with long experience from the profile industry.
