During his speech at the AGM, ProfilGruppen’s President and CEO Claes Seldeby reported on market development, the past year’s challenges and strategic direction.

Claes Seldeby began by introducing himself to all shareholders as the new CEO.

Claes Seldeby then outlined the measures taken during his time as CEO to better adapt the company to future challenges.

The organization has changed, which Claes went through. A joint sales manager for both Swedish sales and exports has been appointed. In addition, a marketing and business development manager has been recruited externally. All production units have been brought together under a common responsibility and a new production manager has been recruited externally. Technical manager is another position that will be filled a little later.

Claes then went through the overall strategic plan where the focus is on the following areas:

  • Growth of the economy
  • Productivity
  • Employees

He further elaborated on what ProfilGruppen must do to strengthen its position in the market. This included:

  • Clear objectives and strategies
  • Developing the forces
  • Profitability focus and further refinement of the customer portfolio
  • Closer to customers

He also described focus areas for strategic development:

  • Strengthening the position in the Swedish market
  • Increased service content
  • Vertical integration – Moving up the value chain

Claes then reviewed deliveries by country, the priority segments and the market development in Europe, where the market for aluminum profiles is estimated to have increased by about 17 percent in 2010.

Internal efficiency work in the form of the ESF project “Aluminum in new ways” and the PBS project were described.

“Aluminum in new ways” is a project aimed at developing ProfilGruppen’s co-suppliers through skills enhancement, which in turn will lead to more qualified work tasks for the individual. The PBS project continues the work of streamlining the co-suppliers, optimizing internal flows and increasing productivity in ProfilGruppen. In connection with this, Lean / Six Sigma, 5S and PDCA were described, which are the methods used in the company for improvement work.

Claes then highlighted the environmental work carried out in 2010 before giving examples of some new business.

CFO Peter Schön then reviewed the performance by segment and the key financial indicators for 2010.

In conclusion, Claes Seldeby emphasized the importance of good employees who, in combination with customers, are responsible for creating value in ProfilGruppen.
