Anodizing provides very strong protection against wear and corrosion, as well as the possibility of coloring the aluminum metal. Normally, anodizing makes the surface layer electrically insulating, but we also offer the possibility to create electrically conductive surfaces.
An environmentally friendly choice
The anodizing process starts with fixing the aluminium parts so that they become electrically conductive. They then undergo a thorough cleaning in a number of different baths. After cleaning, the parts are immersed in an acid bath at a temperature of 20°C. There, we pass direct current through the goods, strengthening the surface layer up to 3,000 times. Thickness is directly related to bathing time and current strength. During the anodizing process, the metal can be dyed in a wide range of colours. Anodizing is an environmentally sound surface treatment method. For alutin, the environmental benefits are particularly significant, as the competing main alternative, chromating, has a significantly higher environmental impact. Anodized aluminium has the same high recyclability as untreated aluminium and does not require separate sorting.
